Krampus is a seasonal Norse figure who is a foil to Saint Nicholas. While Saint Nicholas (whose clothing kind of resembles the Pope) concerns himself only with children who have been well-behaved, Krampus is responsible for the poorly behaved children by giving them lumps of coal and bundles of birch sticks meant for the specter of punishment. The 3D art class enjoyed a casting/sculpting assignment with Krampus as their inspiration.
