**Important announcement regarding Victor School's ELP program**
This message is for families who will have 4-year-old students in our ELP program for the 2026-27 school year.
Victor School's ELP Program (Literacy Intervention for 4-year-olds) was restructured by the 2023 Legislature. It officially began under this new format in the Fall of 2024 as a literacy intervention program for qualified 4-year-old students (it is not a regular pre-school or day care). This new program has been robust and successful.
After two years in the new program, some important data has surfaced that Victor School feels should be considered for the structure and direction of the program. We have reviewed local and statewide data from instructional practices, student proficiency, benchmarking, and even student behavioral data. We are taking these considerations very seriously and have been discussed publically at the School Board meetings on multiple occasions this spring. Based on this local and statewide data, several schools in the valley are refining the length of day for this ELP program. Victor will do this as well.
Based on this data, and in consideration of what's best for our 4-year-old learners, at the regular Board meeting on May 11, 2026, the Victor School Board of Trustees formally adopted an adjusted school day for the ELP program. ELP school will be offered from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, during the regular year. Victor School is not able to offer bus transportation services for ELP students due to this schedule change. Child care is not available on-site, outside of those hours. Parents will need to arrange transportation to and from Victor School for their ELP students.
We recognize that this change could be an inconvenience to you, and we certainly apologize for this. Thank you for your understanding.
Join us next Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30pm.

"Attached you will find an article from MSU that will be distributed across the state newspaper network regarding NHD. In the article, Victor students are featured. While none of the projects made it to nationals this year, we felt like the quality of the work completed jumped leaps and bounds. I could not be more proud of the work that all the students put into their projects from our local event in the Victor multipurpose room, Regionals in Helena in March, and finally State in Bozeman last weekend. We have four disappointed students, but rest assured that even as their hearts were breaking, our students never stopped clapping and cheering for the other winners. To me, that was an incredibly meaningful win. "

Today at Victor School, the Corvallis American Legion conducted a flag retirement ceremony. Students in several grades attended.
Legion members demonstrated the proper flag-folding procedure and then instructed students about the protocols for proper flag retirement.
Students then teamed up to fold a flag and then participated in the flag retirement burning ceremony.
Our students were excellent representatives of Victor School and conducted themselves very well. They should be commended for being such a great audience today.
